Capture the proposal where it already lives

The proposal is already open in a document, a pull request or a ticket. The extension carries what is in front of you into a brief and starts a session from there, so the step where you copy it out and paste it in disappears.

Be told when it ships

One email, on the day this surface ships, and nothing else. Off unless you tick it, and one click to stop.

PENDING No service answers this form yet. The application is being built separately, so sending it reaches an endpoint that returns an error. Nothing you type is stored and nobody reads it.

What happens next

There is no screenshot of the control in a real page, because the extension is not built and a mock of it in a browser frame would be a picture of something that does not exist. Both figures above sit on the evidence page with the method and the sample size.

Where a proposal actually lives

Nobody writes a plan in a text box on a website. It is in a document, a design review, a pull request description or a ticket, and by then it is long enough that moving it elsewhere is a chore. The extension makes the brief the thing you were already looking at, which saves you one copy and paste and one switch between two windows.

Carries the page you are on into a brief No Yes
Opens a room from a document, a pull request or a ticket You paste it One control, in place

What the extension is not

  • The session opens in a Tingvar tab. The extension does not hold it.
  • A Tingvar account is required. The extension signs in to the one you already have and carries no separate sign up.
  • Audio never passes through the extension. It carries text one way and it neither captures, records nor plays sound.
  • Uninstalling it removes no data and cancels no subscription. Your account, your briefs and your billing are untouched by it.

Chromium derived browsers

Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi and Chromium on Linux all install from the Chrome listing above. There is no separate listing for any of them and there is not going to be one, so the Chrome row is the row to watch if you use any of the five.

Firefox

From Firefox 127 onwards, a user can revoke an extension's access to a site at any time, from Firefox's own interface. That is how the browser works, and it applies to every extension you have installed rather than being something this one grants you.

What this extension does once access has been revoked is not published here. It is not built, so that behaviour has never been observed, and a description of it written before anyone has watched it happen would be a guess set in the same type as a fact.

Where extraction has been checked

The control can be pressed on any page, and the extension has standing access to none of them. So this is not a list of sites it is allowed to look at. It is the list of surfaces we have named to check extraction against, with what each one would give us and what it would not, and every row carries the same status today because the extension is not built and nothing has been checked yet.

Read about the browser surface

What you need

What you need for the extension to be any use
Requirement What it means
A Tingvar account The extension signs in to the account you already have. It sells nothing, it carries no separate sign up, and it is free.
One of four browsers Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Those are the four the extension targets, because those are the four stores it would be listed in.
Everything the browser surface needs The extension carries a proposal into a room and the room opens in a browser tab. A microphone, headphones and a connection that holds a call are requirements of the room rather than of the extension.
A page worth arguing with It reads the selection or the document you are on. On a page with nothing to argue with, it has nothing to carry.

The posture in five lines

  • Nothing is read until you press the control.
  • Only the tab you pressed it on is read, and there is no standing access to any website.
  • You see the extracted text before it leaves. Nothing is sent until you press Send.
  • What leaves is the text you approved, the page title and the page URL, once.
  • You can check every one of these yourself in five minutes, by the method below.

What leaves your browser, and when

The extension extracts the text and shows you the preview first. Nothing leaves your browser until you have read that preview and pressed Send. There is no background capture and no capture that happens without that press.

No analytics observe the documents the extension reads. The extracted text is not measured, sampled, logged or reported on. It goes to the brief you sent it to, and nowhere else. If extraction fails on a page, the failure is not reported with the page attached: you are shown the exact payload and asked whether to send it.

The permission manifest

Every permission the manifest would request is in the table below, with what it is for and what it does not allow. Beyond those three it asks for no host permissions, and it carries no background page, so nothing runs while you are not using it. An extension that could read every page you visit is a thing you should refuse, including from us.

Every permission the extension would request, what it is for, and what it does not allow
PermissionUsed forDoes not allow
activeTabReads the page you are looking at, and only in the moment you press the control, which is what turns the proposal in front of you into a brief. It does not allow reading any other tab, reading this tab at any other moment, or reading anything at all while the control sits unpressed.
scriptingPulls the text out of that one page once the control is pressed, so the brief is the document rather than a screenshot of it.It does not allow running code on a schedule, running on a page you have not pressed the control on, or changing anything on the page it reads.
storageKeeps your sign in state and your last used settings on your own machine, so the control does not ask you to sign in on every page.It does not allow storing page content, sending anything stored to us, or reading storage that belongs to any site you visit.

How to check this yourself, in five minutes

  1. Open the extension's own settings page at the address for your browser below, and read the permission list the browser shows you there. That list is the browser's, not ours.
  2. Open your browser's devtools, go to the network panel, and leave it recording with the page you want to capture open.
  3. Press the control, and read the preview of the extracted text it shows you.
  4. Observe that no request carrying page content is made until Send is pressed.
  • Chrome: chrome://extensions
  • Edge: edge://extensions
  • Firefox: about:addons
  • Safari: Settings, then Extensions

Nobody outside Tingvar has run this, and nobody inside it has either. The extension is not built and no listing exists, so there is nothing installed to point a network panel at. The method is published now so that it is fixed before there is anything to run it against, and so that the first four of the five lines above can be tested rather than believed.

Last checked 5 Sept 2026. That is the day the four addresses were last read at source.

The data statement

When the user presses Send in the preview panel, the extension transmits to tingvar.com: the text the user has just been shown, the title of the page it came from, and the page's URL. Nothing else is transmitted, and nothing at all is transmitted before that press. The extension sends no analytics, no error reports containing page content, and no background traffic. It does not read or transmit browsing history, cookies, form fields, credentials, or the contents of any tab other than the one the user invoked it on.

Questions to answer before you install

Can it read every page I visit?

No, and the manifest is the evidence rather than the promise. It asks for activeTab, which is access to one page at the moment you press the control, and it asks for no host permissions at all. An extension that could read every page would be a bigger risk than the problem it solves.

What happens to a capture I never turn into a session?

That decision is unmade. If you press the control, read the preview and close the tab without pressing Send, nothing left your browser at all. If you do send it and then never open the session, what is kept and for how long has not been decided yet, so no period is published here: writing one down before the decision is taken would be inventing it. It will be stated on this page, and on the data page linked below, once it is settled.

Can my employer see what I capture?

Not through us. Tingvar reports nothing to an employer, there is no console for one to look at, and nothing of that kind has been built or is being built. The other half of the answer is not ours to give: if your organisation controls the browser or the machine you are working on, what it can observe is a property of that browser and that machine, and it applies to everything installed in it rather than to this one thing. Ask whoever runs it, because we cannot see that side and will not pretend to.

Does it work on an internal page behind single sign on or a VPN?

The control reads whatever is already rendered in the tab you press it on, so a page you reached through single sign on or over a VPN is read the same way any other page is. Nothing is fetched again and no second connection is opened. The extension carries no credentials, holds no session belonging to any site, and joins no network. It has never been run against an internal page, because it is not built, so that is how it is designed rather than something anyone has watched work.

What happens if I uninstall it?

Uninstalling it removes no data and cancels no subscription. Your account, your briefs, your transcripts and your billing are untouched by it, and every session you have already run stays where it is, in the web app. The extension is a launcher, so removing it removes the shortcut and nothing else. Cancelling a subscription is a separate action, in your account settings.

Are the four listings four different extensions?

No. One extension, four listings, because Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari each run their own store and their own review queue. None of the four listings exists yet. When they do, each one carries the same build, the same permission list and the same data statement as the other three. No difference between the four browsers has been recorded so far, and if one turns out to be real it will be stated here and in the listing it affects rather than in only one of the two.

The answer above about a capture you never turn into a session is the one with an open decision behind it. What Tingvar keeps, and for how long, is published at your data, and the line for a capture that never started a session will appear there and in that answer once it is taken.

Where the recording goes

Tingvar does not store your session audio: it is processed while the room is live and no recording of it is kept. What persists is the transcript, the text of what you said and what each persona said, attributed line by line. Only the account that ran the session can read that transcript, and nobody at Tingvar reads one without your written request on a support case. You can delete any session yourself, and deletions are purged from backups within 30 days. The retention schedule is published at tingvar.com/trust/your-data.

Where a subscription is cancelled

The extension is free and it sells nothing. It signs in to the account you already have, so Tingvar is bought on the web. No browser store bills anything for it or for the product behind it. Cancelling takes three clicks or fewer from your account settings, with nobody to talk to first. The refund terms carry the window, and your data carries what is kept and for how long.

Where to go from here

IDLE

Nobody has used this yet

Zero real human sessions have taken place. Every measured turn to date used pre-rendered audio clips rather than a live human. What is built and verified is the decision layer: the turn-taking policy, the bid scoring and the configuration guards, with 619 automated tests passing and 81.78 % combined coverage. Everything there says the system works. Nothing there says anyone wants it, and being first is a real risk you are taking.
