Our commitments
Twenty-four commitments, each one testable by you rather than by us. The state on every row is the current state, and no row is marked met before it is true.
Version 1.0.0 Effective 2026-08-24 Last updated 2026-08-24
In short
Applies to: A buyer who does not take our word for it
- Twenty-four commitments, each with a test you can run yourself.
- Each one carries its state, including every one we do not meet yet.
- No commitment is marked as met before it is true.
How to read this page
Each commitment carries a test. The tests are deliberately cheap: load a page, count the clicks, open the network panel, read a table. If a test fails, the commitment is broken and we would rather hear it from you than not hear it.
Of the 24 commitments below, 7 are met today and 17 are not met yet. A row that is not met yet is one whose product surface is not built, and it says which surface.
The commitments
Pricing and cost
-
C1
No use case appears on a marketing page that the licence or the AI output clause contradicts.
Test it Read the use cases on any page, then read the AI output section of the terms. Any mismatch is a defect.
NOT YET The marketing pages are not all built, so the cross-read cannot be completed.
-
C2
Every price is legible with JavaScript switched off.
Test it Switch JavaScript off and load the pricing page. Every tier, every feature row and every value is there.
NOT YET The pricing page is blocked on the per session cost, which is an unresolved assumption.
-
C3
Every tier we sell has a card, there are at most three, and exactly one carries a badge.
Test it Count the cards on the pricing page and count the badges. Three and one.
NOT YET The pricing page is not built.
-
C4
The unit of account is currency. If credits ever appear, the currency cost of one session appears beside them.
Test it Look for a sentence on the pricing page giving the cost of one session with the session defined.
NOT YET The pricing page is not built.
-
C5
Tax and the first charge total are shown before the card field, not after it.
Test it Reach the payment step on a phone. The total including tax is above the card field.
NOT YET Checkout is not built.
-
C6
There is no hidden overage. Either the plan stops, or the rate past it is published in currency.
Test it Search the pricing page and the terms for the overage rule. One of the two behaviours is stated.
NOT YET The pricing page is not built.
-
C7
The refund policy is linked from the pricing page, not only from the footer, and it lives at /refunds.
Test it Load /refunds. Then look for the link to it on the pricing page.
NOT YET The refunds page is published. The pricing page that must link to it is not built.
-
C8
End your first session inside five minutes and the payment is refunded in full, no reason required, self-serve. The statutory withdrawal right is separate and unaffected.
Test it Read the refunds page, then trigger a refund from the account page without writing to anybody.
NOT YET The policy is published. The self-serve route depends on billing, which is not built.
Subscription lifecycle
-
C9
Nothing converts on its own. There is no trial and no free tier, so no plan can begin charging you without you choosing it and buying it.
Test it Create an account and leave it. No charge is ever made, because no plan is attached until you buy one.
NOT YET Billing is not built. Rewritten on 2026-09-04, when the free tier and the trial were withdrawn, because a commitment about a trial converting described a mechanism that no longer exists.
-
C10
A renewal reminder 72 hours before every monthly renewal. The 12 month option is one payment that does not renew, so there is no annual renewal to give notice of.
Test it Hold a monthly subscription through a renewal. The email arrives with the amount and the date.
NOT YET Billing is not built. The annual half of this promise is met by construction, because an annual plan is one payment for twelve months and does not renew.
-
C11
A price rise carries 30 days of notice by email, with a cancel link in the same message.
Test it Read the terms. The notice period is written into the contract, not only into a policy page.
NOT YET Billing is not built. The terms carry the commitment already.
-
C12
A subscription bought on the web is cancellable on the web, in three clicks or fewer from the account page.
Test it Count the clicks from the account page to a cancelled plan. Compare it with the clicks it took to buy.
NOT YET The account surface is not built.
-
C13
The cancel flow carries no discount screen, no preselected pause and no confirmshaming.
Test it Walk the cancel flow and read every screen. Nothing offers you a reason to stay.
NOT YET The account surface is not built.
-
C14
Cancellation is confirmed in writing, with the end date and what happens to your data on that date.
Test it Cancel, then read the email. Both facts are in it.
NOT YET Billing is not built.
-
C15
An annual plan that does not renew itself is offered, with the same prominence as one that does.
Test it Look at the pricing page. Both options are visible without opening anything.
NOT YET The pricing page is not built.
Consent, privacy and data
-
C16
No consent box is ever pre-ticked, and an account cannot be created with one selected.
Test it Load the signup page and check every optional box. All of them start empty.
NOT YET Signup is not built. The rule is already checked in the build pipeline for the forms that exist.
-
C17
Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and a browser signal asking not to be tracked suppresses the banner.
Test it Load the site with a clean profile and compare the two buttons. Then send the browser signal and reload.
MET The consent lifecycle check runs on every build and fails it on a difference.
-
C18
No non-essential script fires before a consent choice, and no third party host is contacted at all.
Test it Open the network panel on a clean profile and load any page. Every request goes to this origin.
MET The third party check runs on every build and fails it on a single foreign request.
-
C19
Export is self-serve on every tier including the free one, in a format that opens.
Test it Create a free account, export a session, and open the file.
NOT YET The account surface is not built.
-
C20
Every data category carries a retention period expressed as a number.
Test it Read the retention table on the privacy notice. Every row has a number in it.
MET The table is published and the phrase it replaces is refused by the build pipeline.
-
C21
No cookies rather than a good cookie banner. Measurement is first party and cookieless.
Test it Load any page with a clean profile and read the storage panel. Nothing is set before you choose.
MET The site loads no third party origin, so there is nothing to consent to on a first visit.
-
C22
The sub-processor list is published, named and dated, with the data each vendor receives.
Test it Open the sub-processors page. Every vendor has a purpose, a data category, a region and a date.
MET The page is published and carries an effective date.
Evidence and proof
-
C23
Every artefact that is not a recording of a real session is labelled as such, next to it, in visible text.
Test it Find any demonstration on this site. The label is beside it and it is not smaller than the caption.
MET The build pipeline refuses an unlabelled substitute and refuses any figure with no measured source.
-
C24
No commitment on this list is published as met before it is true.
Test it Read the state on every row above. Every row that says not yet also says why.
MET This page is the evidence. A commitment with no verified implementation carries the state not yet.
Related questions
What happens when my plan's sessions run out?
Tingvar plans stop at their included allowance rather than charging past it. Both plans are capped rather than metered, so the monthly figure on the pricing page is the largest amount you can be charged in a month. There is no overage and no silent upgrade. A plan that quietly bills past its own ceiling is a trick rather than a business model. Your transcripts stay available and exportable.
Where the cancel flow lives
Commitment C12 is the cheapest one to test. The control is on the account page and the count starts there.
