What it is for

All three of these are the same shape. You have committed something to paper, you are about to defend it in front of people who did not write it, and nobody has yet argued with you about it out loud.

Reading a plan back to yourself rehearses the reading. It does not rehearse being interrupted, losing the thread, or having to answer the question you had decided not to think about. Those are the parts that decide how the real meeting goes, and they only happen when somebody speaks.

Not yet produced

A short strip excerpt on each of the three cards, so you can see the shape of the argument before you open the page. Each one is cut from a real session, and no session has been recorded.

Pick the one that matches your week

    Pitch rehearsal

I have to defend this pitch out loud, and nobody has ever pushed back on it.

Survive a hostile room before the real one. The advisers read the pitch, arrive with opposed priorities and ask the question you were hoping nobody would ask, while you are still speaking.

    Board rehearsal

I am taking a bad number into a board meeting and I have one chance at the answer.

Practise the question and answer against advisers who interrupt. An answer you can only deliver uninterrupted is an answer you do not have, and reading it over in your head will never tell you that.

    Plan pressure test

My plan looks fine to me, which is the problem.

Put a written plan under opposed objective functions and find the assumption two of them price differently. That assumption is the one carrying the weight, and it is rarely the one the plan is worried about.

Whether any of this is for you

Who is this for?

Tingvar is built for someone about to commit to a decision that is expensive to reverse, such as a founder before a raise or a board meeting. The three launch use cases are a pitch rehearsal, a board or exec rehearsal, and a written plan you want put under opposed priorities. It is a poor fit for casual brainstorming, because the personas arrive hostile to a specific document and there is nothing for them to attack without one.

There is one more thing worth saying before you pick. Zero real human sessions have taken place, so nothing on any of these three pages is a result. Each one argues the shape of a job, and none of them claims an outcome, because nobody has yet rehearsed against this and there is nothing to report.
