What is destroyed, what is anonymised, what is kept
| Item | What happens | When |
|---|---|---|
| Your account and sign in | Destroyed | When the deletion runs. |
| Every brief you wrote | Destroyed | When the deletion runs. |
| Every session transcript | Destroyed | When the deletion runs. |
| Every session summary | Destroyed | When the deletion runs. |
| Session audio, where any is retained | Destroyed | When the deletion runs. |
| Persona configuration you changed | Destroyed | When the deletion runs. |
| Copies in backups | Destroyed | Purged within 30 days of the deletion. |
| Aggregate product measurements | Anonymised | Kept only in a form that cannot be tied back to you or your company. |
| Billing and payment records | Retained | Seven years, because tax and accounting law requires it. |
How do I delete a session?
You delete a Tingvar session yourself from the session list, and deleting your account destroys every session in it. Deletion is self-service and does not go through support. Anything you delete is purged from backups within 30 days, and we publish that number because an unbounded backup window is what fails a security questionnaire. Billing records survive deletion for seven years, because tax law requires it, and we say so rather than implying everything vanishes.
Two ways to do it
01
In the application, where the control is
Your account page there carries the delete control at the same weight as every other control. One confirmation, and it runs. The control below opens the application.
02
By writing to support, if you cannot sign in or no longer control the mailbox
Write to support from any address and say so. We ask for something that ties you to the account rather than to the mailbox: the invoice number, the last four digits of the card, or the date and subject of a session. This is the case that actually happens, and it is the one a deletion flow usually leaves out.
Deleting your account and your subscription
Deleting the account cancels the subscription at the same time. It is said here, before you confirm, rather than discovered on the next statement. If you bought through an app store rather than on the web, the store holds the subscription and deleting the account here does not stop it: cancel it where you bought it, and this page says so rather than leaving you to find out.
How do I cancel?
You cancel Tingvar yourself on the web in three clicks or fewer from your account settings, with no retention interstitial and nobody to talk to first. The control is at the account cancel page and it is linked from account settings. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and your transcripts stay exportable until you delete them. Deleting your account cancels the subscription at the same time, and the account page says so before you confirm rather than after.
What deletion reaches, and what it does not
Deletion reaches our own systems and the systems we control. Text and audio that has already been sent to a model vendor is governed by that vendor's own retention, which is published on the sub-processor page with the category of data each one receives. That page is where you check it, and the honest position is that we cannot reach into somebody else's logs on your behalf beyond the contract that says they delete them.
The confirmation you get afterwards
You get an email when it is done, listing what was destroyed and what was kept. Nothing else confirms it, so a deletion with no receipt is a deletion you have to take on trust, and none of the products measured for this site sends one.
